60 km from Sambava on the road to Andapa, access to the park is via a track which begins, departure for Camp Mantella, allows you to discover the lower part of the humid primary forests. This is an opportunity to meet many species of reptiles and amphibians, some species of lemurs, and many species of birds (including the Blue Coua and Eurycère de Prévost). This mountain range culminates at 2133 m and is about thirty kilometers from the sea. We will go from banana trees to high altitude shrubs, passing through tree ferns, ficus trees, etc.
The Marojejy National Park is dominated by a granite massif characterized by very rugged and forested reliefs. It is complex in shape featuring a mesh of tapering ridges, sharp peaks, and steep, irregular slopes.
During the visit of the park we meet the Silky Sifaka (Propithecus diadema candidus), which is easy to spot and observe thanks to its dense, long, silky coat with a uniform creamy white colour.
Bivouac in a tent.
Day 5 : MAROJEJY - DARAINA

With our 4×4, we continue towards Vohemar. The village is located at the bottom of a pretty, very green bay, protected by a coral reef. Here, we are always at the end of the world.

For the day, the track is in very bad condition to reach Ambilobe where we find the tar until Mahamasina, the eastern entrance to the Ankarana massif.
our guide will accompany you throughout a rather sporty hike in the Ankarana National Park. It takes 8 hours of walking to be able to admire the majestic panorama of the site. Ankarana National Park is home to an exceptional flora and fauna richness, which is why it is included in the list of protected areas on the Big Island.
The Ankarana National Park offers a wide possibility of circuits. Among other things, the discovery of a huge area of limestone rocks shaped by erosion or the red tsingy to the caves of the bats whose nests are strewn on the huge walls while passing by the visit of the sumptuous Lac Vert.
