Antananarivo – Antsirabe – Ambositra – Zafimaniry – Sahambavy – Ranomafana – Ambalavao – Andringitra – Ranohira – Tulear – Ifaty

Day 1: Antananarivo – Antsirabe 

Breakfast at the hotel.  Road to Antsirabe ,6 hours from Tana.

Halt at Ambatolampy at 70 Km from the capital: stop at a small steel smelter for aluminum products.

On arrival : visit of artisans who make miniature objects, artwork from cow (zebu) horn as well as artisans of objects made from a variety of materials such as stone.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Visit Tritriva Lake. Ride 33 miles. +569m 

After breakfast at the hotel, visit Tritriva. 20 km from Antsirabe, a really popular tour by bike: through some beautiful landscape by bike for 38 km round trip. Numerous rice fields, mountains and valleys passed by. Every bend in the road gave us a beautiful picture.

Tritriva is a volcanic lake with high cliffs up to 20 meters high.  You can walk around the lake in about 45 minutes.

Back to the town for lunch

Day 3: Antsirabe – Ambositra – Zafimaniry

Departure from Antsirabe after breakfast. Cycling for 47km from Antsirabe to Beronono.

Arrival in Ambositra , “city of Malagasy crafts”. Visit to workshops producing Malagasy arts, particularly marquetry, and shops.

Cycling from Ambositra to reach Antoetra and then, trekking to Zafimaniry.

Day 4: Zafimaniry – Ranomafana 

Breakfast at the hotel, departure for Ranomafana. 

Bike from VOHIPARARA to RANOMAFANA 37km including 25km off-road and 12 km of paved road.

Arriving in Ranomafana at noon for lunch and set up at the hotel.

Day 5: Visit Ranomafana NP – Sahambavy

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to Ranomafana National Park, try to see in the wild the endemic lemurs which are the greater Bamboo and the Golden bamboo; you may see other lemurs’ species as the black and white ruffed; the common brown; Milne Edward’s sifaka … Please note that Ranomafana National Park hosts more than 100 birds and the Henst Accipiter henstii which is the top one; the Nelicourvi Weaver and Madagascar White-eye… Five species of viverrids, reptiles, lizards, butterflies, and other insects have been recorded in this park. After the visit, have lunch and then visit Ranomafana village with its local fruit market. 

You leave Ranomafana and the road with your driver-guide towards Sahambavy. Cycling on a 22km track from Bakotaba before arriving at Sahambavy

Day 6: Sahambavy – Fianarantsoa – Ambalavao

After breakfast, we will leave Sahambavy by bike for Fianarantsoa for 23km of road including 15km on track.

Arrived in Fianarantsoa for lunch and we took the road to Ambalavao by car. At the entrance to the village of Ambalavao, visit to the Anjà village reserve

Day 7: Ambalavao – Tsaranoro Valley – Pic Cameleon

After breakfast, we leave Ambalavao to go to Tsaranoro. A 27km bike tour from ILOMAY is on the program. Including 7km of paved road and 20km of track.

We cross the village then we climb the left side of the Caméléon peak (2h 30) and we arrive at the summit of the peak (on the back of the Caméléon ) at 1540m altitude. View towards the cliff, the valley and the Andringitra mountain range. Then descend on the right side of the peak, passing the natural swimming pool at the edge of the forest.

Then return to the camp via the sacred forest.

Day 8: Tsaranoro Valley – Ranohira 

Breakfast at the hotel. 

Depart for Ihosy and you will discover the landscape becomes drier, crossing the plateau of Ihorombe which is a very unusual landscape to reach Ranohira. 26 km by bike from Andiolava to the national road 7. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. Drive to Isalo Natural windows to see the spectacular sunset. Drive back to your hotel to relax after the long day.

Day 9: Visit Isalo NP – Circuit cascade de Nymphes

Breakfast at the hotel.

With a specialized park guide, day visit to the Isalo Massif National Park: canyon, waterfall, natural swimming pool; the black pool and the blue pool. Observation of lemurs, birds, butterflies, lizards. The Bara royal tomb, the old Bara village, contact with the villagers.

Day 10: Visit Isalo NP – Moyen circuit VTT

Breakfast at the hotel.

A bike ride through the variable landscapes of Isalo. Variable landscapes, mid-altitude sclerophil forest (heza, foto, tapia), Andranovorikaolo lake (wild duck group), cave (golden sail lake), savannah with trees and trees, 180° viewpoint, 1000m altitude, deep cliff, botanical garden, tsingy de l’Isalo, geological site, boot of Isalo, wolf of Isalo, window of Isalo.

 30km for the visit

Day 11: Ranohira – Tuléar – Ifaty  Ride 20miles, +392m

Breakfast at the hotel.

Depart for Tulear. Thirty km south of Isalo Park, we can find the Ilakaka river where individuals mine for precious stones. We can also observe the baobabs and the Mahafaly tombs. Passing through Sakaraha which is another town of sapphires.  On the road, we can visit the park of Zombitse Vohibasia.

 26km by bike on paved road from Tuléar to Ifaty.

Day 12: Ifaty

Relaxation and beach day.

Day 13: Ifaty – Tulear

After breakfast, we can enjoy the beach before coming back to Tuléar.

Day 14: Tuléar – Antananarivo by flight

Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport. According to your flight schedule, the driver will drop you off at the airport.

Arrival at Antananarivo, pick up at the airport and transfer to the hotel. A short city tour to finish our adventure.
